About

It’s great to see you stop by my about page. I’m Kailee, the owner and photographer of Kindred Souls Artistry. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Malcolm, living near Charleston, SC with our newest addition, sweet baby Solana and our pup, Bella.

Like a true Virgo, I am all about being outside in nature. During the warmer months, you can find me playing outside with my daughter, letting my inner child fully emerge! I thoroughly enjoy swinging in the hammock, hiking on a trail, walking around the pond, enjoying the sunset, sitting on the beach at Isle of Palm or Sullivans Island, chasing waterfalls, and soaking up the saltwater, smiling as the sand embraces each and every footstep. Really, anything that involves being around water is a “HELL YES!” to me.

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that light becomes this art.

To me, love is the most beautiful and purest thing in this world. The feeling of love. The act of love. The sight of love. The exchange of love. The very being and essence of love, which is why my husband and I not only eloped; it is also my why to becoming an elopement photographer.

Because Love.

Get to know me!

  1. What are you good at?

Awareness of the feelings and emotions of others. From a young age, I identified an incredible gift of being observant and aware of the energy around me. Because of this, I have a deep situational understanding for the people I am spending time with.

  2. What inspires me the most?

The things that I feel inspired by are not things, they’re people. Their stories, their love, their hardships, their successes, their resilience, their joy, their amazement. Really any and everything that makes a person uniquely themselves. Have you ever sat and listened to someone speak about their wildest dreams and feel their passion or listened to a person share stories of their challenges and yet remain positive while acknowledging all of their struggles or even a person who has worked really hard to get to the other side, understanding that it isn’t easy to just get to the other side. That’s what I am most inspired by.

  3. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?

If you look at me standing next to an extrovert, I can appear to be more introverted. If you see me with an introvert, you may think I am an extrovert. Ultimately, I am most likely an ambivert and it all depends on the situation and environment.

  4. What do you enjoy doing?

Literally anything with my daughter and husband. Beach days with these two are what bring joy to my soul. Reading a good book, spending quality time with loved ones, anything music related (dancing, singing, live music), yoga, journaling, going on long walks, playing card games, family adventures, BRUNCH (I am a firm believer that it’s not brunch if mimosas aren’t involved)!

“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
